Harrar coffee beans have a very distinctive fruity, floral-toned acidity,blueberryand – bright in the cup. Ethiopian Harrar unroasted green coffees include Longberry (the largest coffee beans), Shortberry(smaller beans), and Mocha (Moka; Mocca), which consists of peaberry coffee beans.
Heavy-bodied, spicy and fragrant, Ethiopian Harrar coffee is a wild and exotic dry processed (natural) Arabica coffee that is grown on small farms in the Oromia region (formerly Harrar) in southern Ethiopiaat elevations between 1,400 meters and 2,000 meters. The province of Harrar, is east of Addis Ababa, the country’s capitol.
Harrar coffee in particular are considered by Ethiopians as “garden coffees,” grown on small plots by villagers using completely traditional methods. Besides some government owned commercial farms. all Ethiopian coffee are grown in small patch of land on the backyard of this farmers or picked from small patch forest areas owned by this farmers’ cooperative.
